I have seen people who have black irises. Lots of people experience this phenomenon as well. My eyes still look blue sometimes if I wear certain colors near my face, and they look very green sometimes for the same reason.
I had blue eyes and they only turned green when I was about 15, to match my mother's. Lots of people have eye color that seems to change and some that really does change. Color is combined with the pattern of the iris, but regardless of that, this research is still underway and there has been no definite outcome announced as yet. Keep in mind my friends and I are in the age group 20-25. I never payed attention to eye color so closely until I saw this. Ever since I noticed my eyes change from blue to green to Gray with a yellow ring around the pupil it got me to notice my friends. I commented earlier on another page about my eyes.
